1st Conference with international participation : "The Ceramic Art in Education"

Rooftlife and Brickworks museum N. and S. Tsalapatas
Volos, Greece 7th ,8th and 9th of December 2012

Objectives:
a) to develop fruitful reflection and creative discussion about the role and significance of ceramic art and contemporary Greek and international practical applications in education,
b) to identify the relationships of ceramic art with history, science and technology and their connection with the educational field,
c) to present theoretical approaches, research findings and teaching experiences related to the introduction of ceramic art in various stages of education,
d) to investigate the role of non-formal education (museums, ateliers, etc.) of ceramic art and their relation to formal education,
e) to discuss the nature and characteristics of apprenticeship in pottery workshops and
f) to formulate detailed proposals for the future of ceramic art in preschool and primary education.
